Rooftop dining has grown in popularity recently and it’s here to stay! Rooftop restaurants and bars blend food and drink with the enchanting backdrop of twinkling cityscape, enhancing the entire dining experience. With the sun or moon casting its gentle glow, the open-air setting envelops you in a sense of freedom and tranquility. The tantalizing aromas of skillfully crafted dishes and hand-poured cocktails mingle with the fresh breeze, stimulating your senses and whetting your appetite. Whether you’re savoring a romantic dinner or relishing a lively gathering with friends, rooftop restaurants and bars offer an escape from the ordinary. This symphony of flavors and sights creates unforgettable memories that linger long after the last bite and sip are savored. With that said, here are my top picks for rooftop dining in Kingston, Jamaica.

What’s Inside The Article
1. Beirut Mediterranean Cuisine

Nestled in the vibrant Marketplace shopping complex, Beirut Mediterranean Cuisine boasts a rooftop terrace with a great view of the neighbouring Red Hills. This Lebanese restaurant serves an array of authentic Middle Eastern delicacies and desserts such as: tabbouleh, fattoush, kebabs, hummus, falafel and baklava. Their warm & friendly service and delicious menu have made this restaurant a personal favourite of mine. Fun fact: This was the restaurant which made me a medium well steak convert. 🙂 Also, Beirut is the only restaurant at Marketplace with a rooftop view.
2. Chez Maria

Chez Maria is a Jamaican family-owned Lebanese + Italian fusion restaurant which boasts a lovely rooftop view at their new Progressive Shopping Centre location in Barbican, St. Andrew. Their Lebanese menu features the classics of falafel, kibbeh, hummus and tabbouleh, while their Italian menu features a savoury list of pastas and pizza. Their pizzas are really good– flavourful, cheesy and not as salty as the fast food pizza chains.
3. Broken Plate

Sharing the rooftop terrace of the Progressive Barbican Shopping Centre is Broken Plate, opposite from Chez Maria. This relatively new restaurant has become a fast favourite with a wide menu that fuses local and international cuisine. Broken Plate offers both indoor and outdoor rooftop dining with elegant décor enhanced by tastefully soft lighting. Their pastas, flatbreads and burgers are worth writing home about, and as a result they made my list of top restaurants for brunch in Kingston.
4. Offshore Rooftop Lounge

This is the only spot on the list I haven’t personally visited, but it came highly recommended from my partner and I trust his opinion, ha. The ambiance at Off Shore is perfect for friend link-ups and drinks after work, and their skilled bartenders are always eager to entertain with an extensive and sometimes flaming drink menu. They serve excellent portions too for reasonable prices and I’ve heard that their lobster is excellent. Perhaps I’ll update this article soon with a personal review when lobster season reopens in July. 🙂
5. CRU Bar

Rounding out the list is CRU Bar and Kitchen. Located on Lady Musgrave Road, CRU offers delicious food and drinks with the twinkling nighttime cityscape as backdrop. Popular on weekends and often with the younger trendy crowd, CRU is firmly rooted in the heart of New Kingston’s vibrant nightlife scene.
