At Lowe’s Camping Ground, you’ll find tent sites, outdoor cooking facilities, clean restrooms, a gazebo and kiddies’ playground surrounded by lush tropical greenery. Fancy more comfort than a tent? They also have simple self-contained rooms with modern amenities like air conditioning, TV, Wi-Fi and hot water to suit every taste. The atmosphere is casual, social, and laid-back— perfect for backpackers, surfers, or travelers exploring Portland on a budget. This is an excellent base for exploring the nearby Spanish River, and I enjoyed a memorable chat and playing dominos with the owners some years ago when I visited (read my full review here).
